The Seventh-day Adventist Mission of Sabah Today
The Seventh-day Adventist Mission of Sabah (SAB) is a regional structure of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Its office is located at Jalan Jambatan Lama, Tamparuli, Sabah, and has oversight on the operations of Seventh-day Adventist churches, companies and groups in the Malaysia state of Sabah and the Federal Territory of Labuan.
SAB has three administrative officers: a President, Executive Secretary and Treasurer. In addition, there are eight Department Directors who act as consultants and work closely with the local pastors, churches, companies and groups.
The Executive Committee of SAB is made up of the officers, three Department Directors, two field pastors and seven lay members. These are appointed when the Church meets every three years. It coordinates plans and policies, regulates the flow of finances from the local churches and out to Southeast Asia Union Mission, sets general goals and objectives, facilitates the holding of SAB-wide programs and meetings, and provides a forum for discussion of matters important to the whole Mission territory.
Department Directors conduct workshops and seminars, prepare training materials and give specialized guidance and support in all areas of church activities. They do not have administrative functions, yet play a vital role in the growth and unity of the Church.
SAB operates two secondary schools and provides financial assistance to twelve local church schools.
